If It's So Wrong, Why Does It Feel So Right?

Just because something feels right doesn't make it right, right?

Right?

Right.

But being human, this isn't an easy concept to accept, not to mention fully understand. If it's true that everyone's ultimate goal in life one way or another is to reach eudaimonia, as suggested by both Plato/Socrates and Aristotle, then why do so many means to this end feel right when they're not?!

It's cruel, of course. Life is cruel.

But life is also great - "don't throw the baby out with the bath water", right?

If someone makes you super happy and things are truly working, you get along amazingly, but you don't have that one veeeeery important thing in common (your faith), then the relationship shouldn't start since it ultimately won't work. So why bother trying? All it'll do is mess up a friendship that you already have.

Oh yeah, look how smart I am! Yay for me!!

Hey head, would you mind relaying this message to my heart now?

Thanks.

Updates

I reeeeally need to start blogging more... anyways, this will be a short post since I have a LOT of studying to do.

Main points:
~Attending Douglas College (NW)
~Worked for 2 weeks in August at Rockridge (YoungLife camp)
~Single and loving it
~Doing physio for my shoulders that now daily subluxate and often dislocate
~Made a new friend at college who is quickly becoming a best friend (YAY!)
~Getting back into photography
~Just went on a weekend leadership retreat for college and had the best time EVER

Hmmm... well, those are the first main updates that come to mind. I'll write more later!

Peace,
Sarah

Not feelin' so hot.

Hey everyone!

Sorry, it's really been forever since I last posted... huh. Well I'm going to try to blog more frequently now! I just got a new MacBook Pro, so that should help! =D

Right now, I'm in Prince George, visiting family. Lots of fun!

Medical update: I seem to be getting a lot worse. I have an appointment in Nov at Childrens, so hopefully I will get some answers and an official diagnoses. The doctors think it's EDS and possibly POTS as well, but I guess I'll find out then! For now, I'm just being cautious as if it is for sure (cause either way it is something), but still trying to live life to the fullest.

What is EDS?

(from the web): Ehlers-Danlos syndromes are a group of disorders which share common features including easy bruising, joint hypermobility (loose joints), skin that stretches easily (skin hyperelasticity or laxity), and weakness of tissues.

What does it look like for me?

Well, this is why it's highly suspected that this is what I have:

...yeah. Not so "normal". If this is what I have, I would either have the Classical or Hypermobility type, which is good news: the vascular type is often fatal. Counting my blessings...

Anyways, thanks for reading! Hope you found it informative.

God bless,
Sarah

Merry Christmas Eve!

It's been a while since my last post... so much has happened since. Wayyy too much to post, and most of it too personal for an online blog, but I can say some things here.

I am attending a new church! I adore it and all the people there. I'm so thankful.
School is rewarding, but hard. In fact, I have a big book and a HUGE project that is due on the first day back... I really should start both of those...
I'm 17. Whoa. When did that happen?
I got a new phone and unlimited texting! Yeahhh!
Not planning on going to grad. Pointless!
I started a 365 project - it's where you take a picture every day for a year. I'm doing self-portraits. =) I'm wanting to expand my photography skills, and get more comfortable in front of the camera. If you want to follow it, my Flickr account is featured on the right!

There are many more things, but here are a few. Merry Christmas Eve! God bless.

DONE FOR REAL!! Until grade 12...

So, I really am done!!!! Well, until grade 12, of course. And then college, and then... nevermind. But, I've decided to just drop a course next year and either take Earth Science, Bio, or Chem. Well, as long as I don't get the same *unmentionable* teacher. I think I could pass it if I didn't have her teaching it. Anyways, I have my summer back. And I am SO stoked.

Summer 2010... HERE I COME!

DONE!! Well, kind of. Ish.

I am DONE the socials 11 provincial!! I think it went okay... I finished in about an hour and 3/4. xD
Normally I take the full 3 hours, but I was done! And I didn't know how much time was left because I forgot a watch, and couldn't read the clock to save my life. =| New glasses will be ready soon! =D
The multiple choice sucked... I'm normally pretty good at it, but I was totally stumped! And the written was tricky. The 2 essays questions were something like: "Explain how Canadians responded to the Great Depression, using political, economic, and social aspects", and "Explain how overpopulation is a main cause of poverty in the developing world. Use both sides of the argument for full marks."
Yeah. Icky questions. But I don't think it was too bad. Hopefully I got at least a B... I don't know though, it was rough.

After, I went for sushi with Justin, and then I fell asleep as soon as I got home- yay for about 12 hours of sleep! =D
And, the reason I say kind of done is that I still have Earth Science online... eww... I'm SO behind, so I'm going to have to work all summer, hours a day. =(  Hopefully I'll be able to finish in not too long... speaking of which, I should get back to it.
Hope everyone's exams went well/will go well!

SUMMER!!!! Well, almost.

So, summer for students of my school started yesterday. YESS!!!! Well, except for the unfortunates that have provincials next week. Talk about a downer, eh? Oh well. I have a Socials one on Tuesday, but even if I do badly (which I will), I'm basically guarenteed a B. So I'll take that! And... I PASSED MATH 11!! My teacher was quite proud of me. What did I get, you ask? 52.1%. And I was HAPPY with that?! Yes, yes I was. I wouldn't have even gotten that if it weren't for the tireless hours of help I got from certain people! *coughJustincough* So thank-you, from the bottom of my heart. =)
Well, I'd type more, but I've got to continue with practice provincials. Woot... anyways, hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer!! =)
