Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope it was a good one! I know mine was great! I got what I've always wanted: a professional camera!!

This is my new camera!!!! (picture taken with my parent's camera)

I'm definitely going to be posting pictures I've taken with it!

And I got a really good hair straightener!! I plugged it in, and it was hot enough to straighten my hair in about 5-10 seconds!

Horrible picture, but you can see how well it worked! I only did the left (your right) side of my head. See?? :)

I've got to say, I'm feeling pretty happy!! =)
My cousins came over, and we opened some more presents from my grandma! It was a really nice atmosphere. Then we 'Skyped' our cousins from New Brunswick (phoned with the webcam through the computer). It was really nice to talk to them!
All in all, Christmas was AMAZING!!!! And tomorrow, we're getting together with TONS of family from my mom's side! It's actually insane when we all get together- there's SO many people!! I'll post some pictures of that after! :)
Anyways, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
;)

Yes! I'm bringing people over to the dark side! MWAHAHA!
Just kidding!
I'm getting more people into blogging though!
My sister has one now!

So does my cousin!
http://jackipurcha.blogspot.com/
She used to make fun of me for blogging- she said only nerds had blogs. So there! Who's the nerd now?!? =D
Anyways, talk to y'all later!
Byebye!

I'm Losing it.

I'm losing it.
Really losing it.
Seriously.
Omigoodness, I can’t even believe it!
School.
Theatre.
Choir.
Other choir.
Babysitting.
Church.
Worship team.
Youth group(s).
It’s all just too much.
I don’t know my lyrics because I was doing schoolwork.
I get my schoolwork in late because I was learning lyrics.
Is that some kind of a bad joke??
If you see me and I’m a bit loopy, now you know why.
If you’ll excuse me, I must get back to my Science.
*bangs head against wall*

Backgrounds, Schoolwork, and Scripts! Oh My!

Hello! So, I'm guessing you've noticed my background change! Isn't it great? I discovered a site called www.thecutestblogontheblock.com- it's got tons of awesome, FREE backgrounds for blogs! Haha I sound like an infomercial, but I'm serious! Check it out! =)
Since it's so easy, I'm going to change my lay-out according to the season! So stay tuned! =D

Anyways, not much is new except MORE and MORE schoolwork! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'm learning, but it's a little bit discouraging to know you're never going to need to know anything about Science, yet, here you are, sitting at home while your friends are at youth group, doing a Science test... but enough pity-partying!

Oh! This Friday we're getting our scripts!! YAY!! I love highlighting!! Haha! But seriously, I LOVE scripts! But I tend to get obsessive with memorizing... my friends hid my script from me last year at my friend's birthday party... let's just say, that didn't go over very well! =P

Anyways, I need to get back to essay-writing, but I hope I'll be back on here soon!

Thanks for readin'!

Grade 10! UGH!!

Hello Josh, Amanda, and Jane! The three people that read my blog! I LOVE you guys! =]
Oh, and hi to anyone else that is hopefully reading this! Well, it doesn't really matter if I have lots of people reading this particular post- I just meant it's nice to have more people reading my blog! Ok, I'll stop blabbering and get on with my post!

For those who don't know, I am in grade 10. Grade 10 is INTENSE!!!! It's crazy, horrible, informative, heinous, interesting, stupid, annoying, weird, useless, useful, and that's all the adjectives I can think of for now, due to my brain being fried from my latest research report! I knew I was in for a tough year, but really, I had NO idea. I knew I wouldn't have much of a social life. Again, NO IDEA. Which, inspired me to write the following poem:

Grade 10
-By Sarah Rush
October 1st 2008

It is the end
Of a long, tiring day
Now I wish I could sleep
All my troubles away
Who knew so much stress
Could be inflicted on a teen?
It seems so unfair, so unjust,
So- mean.
The world can be a cruel place
And everyone has things to deal with
But remember, or wait 'till you get to grade 10
And you'll see what I'm saying's no myth.

I tend to write poetry about everything I'm feeling- and, 99% of them were written in bed, as I was falling asleep and reflecting on the day, and often, my life. When this one was written, I obviously was really fed up with school work. Some of my poetry is happy, don't worry! =]

Well, I should get back to researching the Giant Hogweed, but hopefully I'll find more time to blog soon!

Catch ya later!

Please Pray For my Grandpa!

Hello faithful few!
I heard some horrible news yesterday. My Papa has cancer. Colon cancer, wherever your colon may be. They think they caught it in a very early stage though, so that is good news! Anyways, whether you know me or not, please pray for him! His name is Don Rush. By the way, he is AMAZING. I talked to my Nana this morning, and she said he wasn't home because he was off singing with his quartet as usual. Inspiring, eh? He's been sick for a while, but now they can put a name to his symptoms, so I suppose that is the silver lining in all this!
Well, thank-you for joining me in prayer for him!
Take care,
Sarah

Our First Practice!

We've had our first practice! They warned us it would be a lot of sitting around, and... guess what? It was! =D But, it didn't matter, because it was awesome getting to visit with our friends! Besides me constantly getting in trouble for whispering too loudly, it was still really nice to catch up with friends we hadn't had a chance to talk to in a while! LOL! Anyways, guess what part I am off-cast in Be Our Guest? A dancing napkin. Shh. Don't laugh. It's rude. And it's actually a better part than it sounds like!! But, I'm still baffled as to how I keep getting dancing roles. Though, by baffled, I mean pleasantly baffled. In Seussical the Musical, I was a lyrical dancer. When my name was called off a list of girls they chose, my friends started laughing! That's how bad I am. And now as a napkin, I have to go into the splits in one beat!! I can tell you one thing: I am practicing my backside off!! I am NOT going to be the only one not in the full splits!! I wonder if they know that I've never taken a real dance class in my life, except half a year of tap with Tri-City Dance, and a few Jazz classes with Lindbjerg that were tons of fun, but I didn't actually improve a whole lot, because I was so anti-dancing. But, again, I said PLEASANTLY baffled, and now that I like dancing more than I used to, I'm embracing this role and I'm going to be as silly and flirty and flexible as the girl next to me!! Well, ok, maybe not. I'm next to Kelsey. But maybe as much as most of the other girls!
Well, I should go practice my splits!! Oh, and maybe doing school work too would be a good thing. Maybe. Catch ya later!

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention, my time stamp is all wrong, and I don't know how to fix it. When I posted it this, it was about 10:20am, on Sept. 29th. (today)

Beauty and the Beast!

Hello! Due to an overwhelming amount of requests... OK, just one... I'm going to write about my theatre auditions for Beauty and the Beast! (the same group that I was in for the last 8 years- we did Alice in Wonderland last year, remember?) Anyways, like I said, I wanted to be Belle, along with... hmmm... I believe it was 24 other girls. But I wanted it BAD. I practiced her song pretty much everyday, and got all OCD with it like I always do, as all my friends know. :) Anyways, I did the call back for her and Mrs. Potts on Friday the 19th. It went ok, but my voice was shaking SO much because I was SOO nervous!! The cast list wasn't supposed to come out until the Wednesday, but it came out the next day- Saturday.
I found out I had gotten Mrs. Potts. At first, I was devastated. I had so much wet mascara all over my pillow case, it went through to my actual pillow. But, after I had a good cry and pillow-punching session, I was fine. Actually, happy. Then, ecstatic! I was only upset because it wasn't the part I was going for. But after I thought about it, I JUST COULDN'T WAIT TO START PRACTICING!!!! I am SO happy with my part now, and I feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to play her!! Thanks Amanda and Linnea!!!! :)
Well, here was my story! Hope you enjoyed it! :)
Take care!

Back in the Swing of Things

School has been happening for quite a while now! Oh dear, grade 10 is SO hard! I honestly like the work I'm doing (except Math of course, haha) it's just the AMOUNT of work. I didn't believe my friends when they told me grade 10 is harder than any other grade. Now I'm a believer, ya ya ya ya, I'm a believer! You know, like the song? Sorry. Anyways, I should go, because I need to finish a crazy-long English assignment that was due last night! God bless!

Ok, More Now!

Hello!
Ok, here are some pictures from Mexico!

Sarah K and I on the train- the first train, that one, was 36 hours long!!!! The second one was 2, and then there was a lot of driving, so it was a pretty long trip! And on the was back, the train was delayed, so it was 38 hours long! :/ Haha, a lot of fun though!

Napping on the train :)

On the train, hiding from a picture, haha!

Joy and I, chillin' on the bus to Mexico.

Me, as a clown- these two little kids, a girl and a boy, kept doing that to me, so I was copying them :P

Ha, we got one of them!!

Me 'n Katie, clowning around!

Me holding this adorable little girl!!

Haha, freaking out a little kid :)

Brad and I, getting paint off the front door... the hammer came in handy for that! :)

Our team, under the second biggest Mexican flag in the world!
Some of our team! See the flag above us? By the way, the date is waaaaaay off :P

The flag!

One of the drimes (drama/mime) called Rag Man; where Jesus takes on all our sins. I wonder if that was the take where I dropped him...

Another drime, called The Empty Heart, where a clown (me), is trying to fill my heart with different worldly things, and then discovers the Jesus is the only one who can fill my heart. Right there, I was trying to fill my heart with money.

I got to speak through a translator when I shared my testimony!

Jodi and I were trying to take a picture, and Serena jumped in with paint all over her- that totally made the picture, haha :)

I love this picture! This was on top of a hill overlooking the whole town. I'm on the left, with Sarah K, Jasmine, and Serena.

Well, I hope this gives you a look into what I was up to when I was there! If I find anymore I want to put on here, I'll do that, but for now, here's just some! Take care and God bless!

Been Away For A While, Sorry!

Hey everyone!
Sorry I haven't written in a really long time; summer started, and I was SO busy! I went to Mexico on a missions trip with my youth group! We stayed with a missionary organization call YWAM; Youth With A Mission. We were there for 10 days, and it was AMAZING! We trained, learned and performed drimes (dramas and mimes), dressed up as clowns for the little kids, painted houses, and basically had the greatest time EVER! :) Also, we took the train there! Considering I'm from Canada, it took us about 40 hours+ with both trains and all the driving! It was insane!! But, SUPER FUN!! I have pictures to post, but I'm at my cousin's house right now so I can't post them. Yes, she only lives 3 houses away, but it's after midnight and I'm having a sleep-over! So I'll do it real soon.

The theatre group I'm in is starting Friday!!!! I can't wait!!!! We're doing Beauty and the Beast! Guess what part I want? You guessed it; Belle. I've been practicing really hard; wish me luck!! :)

I should go to bed now; I'll write more later!
G'night!

Life Lately

Hey! I know I haven't written for a while, but life has been insane! In a good way, though. :)
Since I last wrote, I went to my grandparent's cottage; hung out with my youth group at Science World, Stanley park, and other places; had my gr. 7 piano exam and passed it (yay!); and many other awesome things! And one really bad thing: my rabbit, Angel, died on June 22. My whole family was pretty sad, considering we'd had her for about 7 years. But, she was pretty old- she was already a few years old when we got her, so she was about 10, more or less. That's pretty old for a rabbit! But she still looked like a baby, because she was a dwarf rabbit, so she was pretty small. Here's a few pictures of her from a few years ago:
Pretty cute, eh? :)

Well, take care now! God bless!

More About Me :)

I'm back from eating my cookies! Yum! Anyways, I thought I would tell you more about me. Softball season is ending, and I'm very sad! We have our final tournament this weekend. I'm playing in it, and umping. And then on the Sunday, after the medal ceremony, I'm going to try and go to part of out wind-up dinner, and then straight to the theatre to get into make-up and costume for my singing teacher's big year end show! I'm singing On My Own from Les Mis. I love that play!

I was in Alice in Wonderland (the musical) in May, with a group called Xtreme Theatre, a home-school, Christian theatre group. That was my 7th year with them, and I got to play Alice on cast 2! It was a blast, and I feel so blessed to have had such a fun experience. I was even in the news paper twice! Here's one of the pictures they used:

I didn't even know someone from the newspaper came! Good thing I wasn't sticking my tongue out at my sister or something... tee hee... :]

Anyways, have a good night! I'm tired... zzzzzzz........

Summertime, Please?!?

Hello all! I'm on summer break now! Hallelujah! Well, I've go some Math left, but that's all. I'm so happy! There's just one thing missing. What's that, you say? SUN! Is anybody with me on that one?? I want to sun tan! Actually, I guess in my case you would call it sun burning. Not that I enjoy looking like a tomato... I just don't want to give up all hope of ever getting a real tan. Ok? Ok.

I took my gr. 7 practical exam on June 10th, and I just found out today that I passed! Phew! Yes, it was by the skin of my teeth (and my teeth have very thin skin!), but I still passed! I'm a bit of a procrastinator... have you heard the saying, "Procrastinators: leaders of tomorrow."? Yeah, that would be me. My poor piano teacher... I'm very lucky that she's put up with me for 10 years!!

Well, I've got to go do important things now. Like eat homemade chocolate chip cookies... mmm... catch ya later!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

As you all should know, today is Father's Day! I thought this would be a perfect time to introduce you too my Dad, Craig. (Not Greg- he gets really ticked off when people call him that) :D
This is my Dad (on the left, obviously) with my Mom:
He is a great, hard-working man who always provides for his family. He comes out to my softball games, watches the musical theatre plays my sister Emma (12) and I (14) are in, and he's a total goof! (without embarrassing me in front of my friends)
I love you Dad!!

Meet Sarah

Hello! I'm Sarah-Jill! Actually, my name is Sarah. Plain and simple, Sarah. Hence the name of my blog. But I have two middle names, and with the first one being Jill, I thought it would be more unique to hyphenate the two. There are just simply too many Sarahs! When I was younger, I used to fantasize that my name was Anastasia. But my mom said that if she had named me that, I would be a teenager by the time I could spell it. I disagree. And for a while I tried to get my friends to call my Sadie (a nick-name for Sarah). It didn't last long. This blog is about my life! I thought it would be a good way to keep up my writing skills over the summer. Plus, I just love to write! And sing, and act, and play softball, and rollerblade, and go on friends' trampolines, and... well, you get the idea. I'm very active. So, I hope you enjoy reading it!

Take care,
Sarah-Jill
